About These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to Pixel Lives ("the Game"), made by Jupaco ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing or playing the Game, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.
How we handle information is covered by our separate Privacy Policy.
Your Licence to Play
When you buy the Game, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and play it on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, as allowed by the store you bought it from.
You may not:
- Copy, resell, rent or redistribute the Game or any part of it
- Modify, decompile or reverse engineer the Game, except where the law allows it
- Remove any copyright or ownership notices
- Use the Game, its art or its text to make a competing product
You are welcome to share screenshots and videos of your own play, including on social media and streaming sites.
Purchases and Refunds
Pixel Lives is sold through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by the store you bought it from, under that store's own terms and refund policy. Jupaco does not receive or store your payment details.
- Google Play: you can request a refund through Google Play.
- App Store: you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you are having trouble getting help from a store, email us at the address below and we will do what we can.
Apple App Store Downloads
If you got the Game from the App Store, your use of it is also covered by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms are between you and Jupaco, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Game or its content, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it, and is not responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Game Content
Pixel Lives is a work of fiction. Its people, companies, places and events are made up, and any resemblance to real people or businesses is a coincidence. The Game lets you play through grown-up life choices, including crime, prison, relationships and a casino. These are simulated only and are not advice or encouragement to do any of them in real life.
The casino in the Game uses in-game money only. You cannot bet real money, buy in-game money, or win anything of real-world value.
Your Saves
Your lives and settings are saved only on your device. Deleting the Game, resetting your device or turning off your device's backup may remove your saves, and we cannot recover them for you because we never have a copy. Your device's own backup (Google on Android, iCloud on iPhone) may let you restore them; see our Privacy Policy for details.
Updates
We may release updates that fix bugs, change balance, or add, change or remove features. We work to keep existing saves loading after every update. Some updates may be needed to keep playing on newer versions of Android or iOS.
Ownership
The Game, including its code, art, music, text and the Pixel Lives name and logo, belongs to Jupaco or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Buying the Game gives you a licence to play it, not ownership of it.
Consumer Rights and Liability
If you are in Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees, or any similar rights you have under the laws of your own country.
Apart from those rights, and to the extent the law allows, the Game is provided "as is", and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, such as lost saves or lost time, arising from your use of the Game. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to the amount you paid for the Game.
Ending These Terms
You can stop using the Game at any time by deleting it. If you break these Terms, your licence to use the Game ends.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be shown by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep playing after a change, the updated Terms apply.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia. If you live elsewhere, you also keep any protections the laws of your own country give you.
